Looking for a tool that works just as hard as you? Our new four wheelers will redefine what a hards day of work looks like. Come and see for yourselves at Brinson Powersports in Athens, TX!
So what’s the draw of an ATV? ATVs are four-wheeled off-road vehicles, also referred to as quads and four-wheelers. You sit on and control the machine similarly to a motorcycle, straddling the seat and controlling speed and direction using handlebars. It also comes with a powerful engine and big, durable wheels to tackle just about any type of off-road terrain. There are specialty models you can get if the standard ones don’t give you the traction you need on softer material like sand. Keep in mind, you’ll still want to be wearing all the proper safety gear, despite how secure you may feel on four wheels. At the very least, you’ll want to wear a helmet. You’ll also want to make sure you’re not overloading your vehicle. ATVs are generally only built for one person, with a few exceptions that can handle two.
There are essentially two types of ATVs: recreational and utility. These can break down into other categories, like sport models, but the difference is in how you use them. Utility ATVs generally come with more hauling and towing capacity so you can use them for task-oriented purposes. Recreational ATVs are more agile and better suited for fun trail riding. Depending on what you intend to do with your ATV, you’ll want to keep these differences in mind when you’re browsing through your options.
The biggest drawback of buying new is the higher price, so what’s the reasoning? One of the biggest advantages is the security that comes with it. New ATVs are less likely to run into maintenance troubles until further down the road. If something does go wrong, there’s often a warranty to cover initial repairs. There’s also a certain peace of mind in knowing where the quad has been. You’ll know all the maintenance and repairs that it’s needed and any incidents it’s been involved in. Plus, you’re the proud, initial owner of a shiny new machine. What could be better than that?
